Wightlink Terminal Ryde Pier

Same pier, different job!

It’s not just the pier at Ryde undergoing refurbishment but also the Wightlink Terminal at the end of the pier too.

With a weight restriction on the pier and a narrow access road our Jekko SPX532 spider crane was best suited to solve both these issues.

The job involved lifting steelwork over the Wightlink pedestrian linkspan at the high speed catamaran terminal at Ryde Pier. The HSC Fast Cat used the lay-by berth for the morning while the works were undertaken. Temporary rigging was put in place to support the linkspan. Our team then carefully lifted the old steelwork out and then lifted the new steelwork in.
